Hello I am Sashara,
Your Local Hero in Panama. Since 15 years I work in sustainable Eco tourism. I feel lucky with the opportunity not only to meet people from all over the world but also to be able to advise them with my knowledge. Yes, we are proud of our Canal: Panama is the only country where you can have lunch at the Pacific and dinner at the Caribbean Ocean. But there is much more: nothing is more amazing to me than watching the whales during whale season visiting Panama or, as I am from the Caribbean part of the country, our turtles who come every year back faithfully back to my home to lay their eggs.
I like to show you the culture of our indigenous tribes, the magnificent rainforest, the mysterious cloud forest and maybe some of the 100 tropical islands we have.
I would love to assist you with your travel plans and I look forward to meeting you and do everything to make your vacation in Panama an unforgettable one. Greetings from Bocas
PS: do not to forget: Panama is as well a rich destination for Foodies (like me!) My favourite recipe is ‘Rondon’. Ingredients: Fish (Snapper or Mackerel) Yucca, Green banana, hand of Coriander, coconut milk, 1 onion, garlic, salt and pepper and lemon. Clean and season the fish with salt, pepper, garlic and a little lemon. Then fry it so that it does not fall apart when you put it in the pot with the rest. In a pot put the vegetables to boil, with the coconut milk and season with the coriander, the onion a little salt and pepper. Wait for it to cook and reduce the coconut milk to put the fried fish inside and bathe it with milk. After 5 more minutes turn it off. Don’t make it too dry or too wet. I hope you try it (I love it…)
Meet the locals, share the world
My name is Sashara. I was born on Bocas del Toro, typical Caribbean islands north of Panama City. Being cheerful and optimistic I love interacting with people (and: cooking together, my other hobby)
I want to offer all my knowledge to people who wish to visit Panama and have a nice experience. Panama is a small country but big in heart, it has a lot to offer, nature, parks, beaches and a great gastronomy. See you!
